THE ORGANIZATION
LLNWA was founded in 1982 by a group of local women inspired by the overwhelming needs for services in their community. The organization became a non-profit corporation in 1984. LLNWA has grown from the initial volunteer efforts to an active community organization.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Association’s mandate is to provide programs to assist in the advancement of community and area residents through social, economic, cultural and educational activities.
Services and programs offered through the Lovesick
Lake Native Women’s Association include:
- Aboriginal Prenatal Nutrition Program
Services and support for healthy birth and development of young children of Aboriginal Ancestry, between the ages of 0-6 months, and their families including expecting mothers and single parents. - Community Action Program for Children
Services and support for healthy development of young children of Aboriginal Ancestry, between the ages of 0-6 years, and their families. - Long Term Care Program
Healthy living information, resources and referrals for all seniors, physically or mentally challenged and chronically ill community members who live off-reserve and are of Native ancestry.
